Zhineng Qi Gong and medical Qi Gong– smart health with Traditional Chinese Medicine

The Zhi Neng Qi Gong practice forms the basis of medical Qi Gong. The relationship between Qi Gong and MTC is maintained. They indeed have the same historical roots. Before the Tang and Song dynasties, there was no difference between the two disciplines. Subsequent separation will lead to a lack of understanding of the fundamental principles among practitioners.

The philosophical bases of TCM and Qi Gong are identical. Yin / Yang are the beginning and the end of all substances. We pass from the formless (Qi) to the form (Xing) in a classic progression from the void, from the unmanifest Wu Ji towards the appearance of Yin / Yang polarities and their transformations and their manifestations in 8 principles.

It’s about humans adjusting to seasonal dynamics. In spring and summer, you have to feed the Yang. In autumn and winter, you have to feed Yin indoors. For example, Fu Zi produced very yang should not be consumed in summer; Shi Gao, Da Huang are very cold and should not be prescribed in winter.

Zi Wu Liu Zhu is an ancient method of acupuncture based on the regularization of internal movements by resonance with the dynamics of macrocosm movements. In this approach, we only treat Wu Shu Xue in a logic different from their current use in connection with organs.

In Zhi Neng Qi Gong there are many movements that work the forearms, legs, wrist and ankle joints: we work on Wu Shu Xue.

In the “Huai Nan Zi” (classic work of the same era as the Nei Jing), we find the following definitions: Xing is the house of the living, of life, Qi fills the living, and Shen is responsible for the living.

The Heart is the monarch, responsible for the Shen consciousness, the Organs are its vassals.

In Chinese medicine we talk about Jing, Qi and Shen, when we talk about the substances inside the body. In the body Yin and Yang are substances (zhen Yin / Yang) stored in the Kidneys and different from the philosophical Yin / Yang.

The correspondence with the nature and the use of somatotopias (language, eyes etc …) in the diagnosis and the treatment of imbalances is an important principle in classical Chinese medicine while the notions of Qi and Qi Hua are the quintessence of the theory. Qi is the basis of medicine, its core is the body's metabolism. Each season is associated with a specific dynamic of Qi:

  • Sheng = production, this is the role of the Liver

  • Zhang = to grow is the role of the Heart

  • Hua = transformation, this is the role of the Spleen

  • Shou = harvest, this is the role of the Lung

  • Cang = hide, this is the role of the Kidneys

The Lung controls Qi, i.e. the entry / exit of Qi in the body, the movements of the diaphragm.

When explaining the functions of Organs, one should always use Qi AND Qi Hua. For each Organ we must understand the tri-unit Xing, Qi and Shen which composes it. Acupuncture plays a major role in the treatment of Xing and Qi. Qi Gong is effective in healing Shen.

In the “Shen Ji Zong Lu” (Song dynasty), one can read: “Look inside to heal”. It is quite obvious that the most basic principle of Huang Di Nei Jing, the Biao / Li relationship, emerges through the practice of Qi Gong. Li Shi Zhen in the “Ben Cao Gang Mu” says: “Close your eyes, look inside”. Qi Gong is a foundation and the epitome of clinical practice in Chinese Medicine. According to Nei Jing, the good doctor:

  • regularizes (strengthens) consciousness (Shen)

  • exercise his body

  • know the pharmacopoeia

  • use the needles

  • knows the functions of the Organs

In Chinese tradition, study and practice go hand in hand.

Also in Nei Jing: "The rude doctor puts attention on the Xing, the senior doctor puts attention on the Shen", that is, the doctor receives information directly (this is called superior intelligence) through images. It is an ability and then a certainty that develops with the practice of Zhi Neng Qi Gong.

We are looking to develop Shen Ming, the light of consciousness and we practice Qi at all times. To practice Qi is to think Qi all around us, it is to look at Qi so that consciousness combines with Qi.

Yi Li Zuo Yi is to use theory to make people imagine, that is to say to imagine using the principles of classical Chinese medicine. If the principles are simple, they are clearly stated and apply without difficulty (if it is complicated, it is difficult and unnecessary to imagine, to use images).

The practice of Qi Gong is to turn consciousness towards oneself. To advance in practice it is necessary to "open the head", Li Shang Kai Qiao, to lay down the theory to open the head, that is to say to teach the principles to free the conscience.

One must practice tenacity, “Ke Ku Lian Gong”, continue / overcome the pain and practice together, use the field of Qi, Yi Chang Zhu Gong.

Medical Qigong is used for diagnosis and treatment. Diagnosis involves receiving information from the Hun Yuan Qi. The processing consists in sending the information in the Qi fields.

But first you have to feel Hun Yuan Qi and therefore practice Zhi Neng Qi Gong. The 1st method of Zhineng Qigong is entry into medical Qigong. To heal, you have to send the Qi and then send the information, but you have to practice a lot to work in total confidence, with absolute faith.

Dialogue with Hun Yuan Qi becomes possible when we develop and use the same language as Hun Yuan Qi to communicate with him. This language is Love, Agape or unconditional love, it is trust in the universal Spirit.

The main / dominant practice is the 1st method of Zhi Neng Qi Gong for 3 reasons: it is first to find or perceive the philosophical state of the body, the exchanges between the body and the outside. It is to diagnose the pathological state of the body, if the Qi does not circulate then the disease appears. It’s practicing down to the cell level and even deeper (genes, DNA).

We have to practice Peng Qi Quan Ding Fa, the 1st method of Zhineng Qi Gong to reinforce the Qi which enters and leaves, always more deeply and in an increasingly subtle way.
