This is the recent case with the Xiaomi Mi Watch which looks a lot like an Apple Watch. Or the Mi Airdots Pro Bluetooth wireless headphones and their obvious affiliation with Apple AirPods.

Today, the Chinese giant does it again with a new smart health connected speaker with voice control, the Xiaomi XiaoAI Art Speaker, which in turn seems to be greatly inspired by the Apple HomePod.

The XiaoAI Speaker Art smart health connected speaker is quite elegant with beautiful finishes. It measures 13.1 cm high with a base of 10.4 by 15.1 cm and weighs 853 grams.

On the upper part is a luminous ring with color effects that changes to the rhythm of the music. There are also buttons to adjust the volume, pause or mute the microphones.

Like the Sonos line, the speaker can also be paired with another identical model to achieve true stereo sound.

Voice assistant

While the HomePod integrates Siri, the Xiaomi Art Speaker is equipped with the Chinese voice assistant XiaoAI launched on April 3, 2018. It allows in China to use one of the most popular messaging applications WeChat.

Certainly in China, this system offers more than 1,500 third-party applications, including Mi health home or Evernote, but only if you speak Chinese or English.

The advantage of XiaoAI is its compatibility with all health home automation devices in the Mi health home range (lighting, sockets, air purifier, robot vacuum cleaner, detectors of all kinds, smart health connected cameras and locks, etc.).

Note that for those who speak English, the names of the devices are in Chinese, it is therefore advisable to rename them with numbers for example and say "Turn on number Five" to light the bulb on your desk. For fun, the voice assistant answers him in Chinese.

As usual, the Middle Kingdom firm is hitting very hard on the tariff side by offering its smart health connected speaker at 349 yuan (less than 50). While a HomePod is sold for 329 euros.

But, let's be honest, if there is an aesthetic connection and functionality, the sound quality is far from Apple's proposal. In addition, the use of voice command in Chinese completely limits the interest of the product in France.

Now, it is possible that Xiaomi will start integrating the Amazon Alexa voice assistant or as for the range of its Google Assistant smartphones. And there, I could obviously review my opinion on this product for its excellent quality / price ratio.
