Xiaomi 11 is in stock -QHD+ 8GB RAM 128GB ROM Snapdragon 888 Smartphone Octa Core 108MP Rear Camera
Xiaomi presented in China the Mi 11, its new flagship for the year 2021. It is a very high-end smartphone, offering the best of what is done in terms of hardware and many features additional software. Among them, we can mention the heart rate monitor integrated into the fingerprint sensor, the sharing of sound to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously or night mode in video.
Unsurprisingly, the Xiaomi Mi 11 will have Qualcomm’s most powerful processor under its hood, I named the Snapdragon 888. Chip that should be found on the majority of premium smartphones at the start of 2021, and which offers also and especially a 5G compatibility thanks to its X60 modem. Add to that 8 or 12 GB of RAM, and 128 or 256 GB of storage, according to Android Authority.
TRIPLE PHOTO SENSOR, INCLUDING ONE OF 108 MEGAPIXELS
In terms of design, the Mi 11 slightly changes its philosophy compared to the previous generation: its back indeed sports a square-shaped module with very rounded edges, in which another module is nestled this time rectangular, but still with rounded edges. The latter accommodates two vertical cameras, accompanied by a third sensor located on their right.
In terms of photography, precisely, Xiaomi has opted for a main camera of 108 megapixels (f / 1.85), an ultra wide-angle of 13 megapixels (FOV of 123 °, f / 2.4) and d ‘a 5 megapixel (f / 2.4) macro sensor for capturing objects up close. It is therefore one sensor less than on the Xiaomi Mi 10, but that does not mean that it will perform less in this area.
Xiaomi has also focused its efforts on the weight and thickness of its phone: 196 grams and 8.06 mm, against 208 grams and 9 mm on the Mi 10. These are all small adjustments that should make the terminal more comfortable in the hand. Its screen measures 6.81 inches and offers AMOLED technology with a QHD + definition (3200 x 1440) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. We are clearly in the high end.
GORILLA GLASS VICTUS FOR MORE RESISTANCE
Good news: the panel will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus protective glass, the latest from the manufacturer Corning. This new generation promises to be twice as resistant to scratches, while withstanding drops from 2 meters high without damaging the screen.
The 4600 mAh battery can be recharged thanks to a 55 W fast charge, which will allow it to recover all of its autonomy in the space of 45 minutes, against 53 minutes thanks to a wireless charge of 50 W. Finally, a 10W reverse wireless charging completes it all.
Xiaomi had confirmed that there will be no charger in the box of the Mi 11, like the Apple iPhone 12. Finally, two options will be offered to the user: a box with the phone only, or another with the phone and a 55 W charger considered as a separate bundle. Both will be at the same price: in short, the customer considers whether or not he needs a new charger.
BLINKAI PRESENTS XIAOMI MI 11 NIGHT VIDEO MODE
This video night mode was designed in partnership with BlinkAI, an American start-up specializing in artificial intelligence. Xiaomi and BlinkAI have thus taken advantage of the new features of the Snapdragon 888 to apply the same treatment to each image of the videos that can already be experienced in photos.
In a matter of milliseconds, machine learning algorithms will push the sensitivity of each frame and improve its rendering by removing noise and adjusting colors. BlinkAI posted two demos on its YouTube channel:
The result is particularly impressive in the second video showing a statue. We can see that the scene clearly gains in brightness while maintaining colors that appear natural and without adding particularly noise to the image.
On the park maps, however, there are some limitations, mainly related to the small size of the sensor and the lenses on a smartphone, which make the result rather blurry from a distance (on tree branches in particular), as well as some algorithm that generate artefacts and other chromatic aberrations linked to demosaicing of the image.
We can see a purple halo in some areas of the image, but also a contrast that seems to have been increased in the movement of the water, creating an impression of “glitch” in some places.
