Withings Body Cardio Balance Review
The smart health connected scales market sees few new products arriving, and one of its biggest players, Withings presented its new high-end model, the Withings Body Cardio, a few months ago. After several months of testing, discover our Withings Body Cardio Reviews on this product.
Review of the Withings Body Cardio
If you don’t have time to read the full Review, here is our ehealth Review of the Withings Body Cardio in less than 2 minutes:
Design and Hardware
Withings products (generally imagined by Elium Studio) are often a success on the point of design and the Body Cardio is no exception to the rule. I have it in white version (I find it more beautiful than the black version) and it fits perfectly in a bathroom, it is slightly thinner than the previous model, it will easily go under a piece of furniture to be stored. The weight is a little high, but nothing very damaging in everyday life as it slides easily on the ground.
Another novelty on the Body Cardio compared to the old models, no more AA batteries to power it, it now includes a battery that recharges by USB. My first weighing was on June 15, 2016 and I still haven’t had to reload it, which is a great performance.
Features and application
It incorporates most of the functionality of the WS-50 by adding new features. In addition to the weight, the Withings Body Cardio gives you the following data:
Fat mass
Muscular mass
Water mass
Bone mass
BMI
Pulse
Pulse wave speed
Weather forecast
All the data is noted on the balance screen (you can choose which one is displayed) and transcribed in Withings Heatlh Mate app. To send the data, the scale uses either Wi-Fi (this is my case) or Bluetooth. If you have read our tests of Withings smart health connected watches, you may already know this application.
It gathers all the data on your health (weight, activity, sleep and heart) within the same dashboard. For the weight part which concerns us, you will be able to see at a glance your evolution over time. The data that interests me the most on a daily basis is fat mass and it is interesting to follow its evolution over time. You can choose between a graphic mode or the lists of your measurements to see more clearly.
You can use up to 8 profiles and the person weighing himself is recognized automatically. The pulse wave speed, widely put forward by Withings in its communication, is not of much use to me, and I never read the advice given by the application. This is only my personal use, this data may appeal to another type of user.
Autonomy
As I said in the first part of the Review, I am now 9 months using the scale without having to recharge it, which for months is a very good performance, especially since it is no longer necessary to buy batteries frequently.
