Tile trackers – what is it and how does it work?

Tile trackers are small trackers smart health connected via Bluetooth that lets you know where your objects are. For example your keys. But that's not all, because Tile is looking to expand its offer by making it easier to track your assets; or looking for items you’ve lost. Here's how Find with Tile works and everything you need to know.

What are Tile trackers?

Tile is a company that offers trackers who connect via Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth the or BLE). They allow their owners to use a smartphone application to locate these trackers on demand.

The company itself sells a range of different trackers: Pro, Mate, Slim (and several older models). The brand also offers other Bluetooth-enabled devices, such as headsets.

In the case of headphones, you will not need a brand tracker for these. The system will operate using the device’s native Bluetooth hardware – which is known as Find with Tile, as long as this technology is supported.

There are 26 million trackers of the brand, based on figures from 2019. They make 6 million requests for location every day. Finally, Tile reports that it has more than 90% of the US market for Bluetooth trackers.
