The UK of smart health connected objects

The UK is the leading consumer of smart health connected devices "that are much more responsive and faster than anywhere else in the world," according to Phil Smith, president of Cisco UK / Ireland.

During a speech at the'London Interop 2015 (Technology Week), Smith predicted that by 2019, 40% of smart health connected objects could have a connection speed of 50MB per second.

The Cisco boss first mentioned the smart cars, more and more endowed with “sensors developing a real sense of reality”. Smith remembered in particular an accident that happened two years ago in his BMW, the emergency services of which already knew what had happened before he could even reach them.

Save thanks to smart health connected sensors

According to Smith, 47 billion euros are spent annually for road accidents in the UK, 90% due to human factors. The President of Cisco UK admits, however, that there is still much to do before he can really speak of "autonomous cars", evoking security and data processing.

The savings thanks to these advances should also concern the health sector, with a forecast of 280 million euros saved through better data analysis. Smith added on this subject, that by the end of the decade, 40% of information should be transferred via sensors, facilitating analysis.

smart health connected objects are really helping to improve the organization of society and its efficiency in general, the boss of Cisco UK finally said.
