On April 1, the Medicines & Society Lab is organizing its first videoconference conference devoted to fake news around medicines. Presentation.

A laboratory of ideas dedicated to the challenges of drugs in society, the the Lab Médicament & Société brings together representatives of the health system: associations of users of the health system, patients, health professionals and drug companies.

It offers analyzes, issues recommendations and imagines concrete answers. Its ambition is to do so, by crossing points of view, by seeking to understand what divides or what unites and by promoting the co-construction of solutions shared by the united stakeholders.

Whether through discussion with researchers from all disciplines, through dialogue with professionals from other horizons, or through reading their analysis, members of the Medicines and Society Lab thus enrich their work. The aim of this openness is to bring out new perspectives and then put them into public debate.

After working on the use of data and improving the quality of information for healthcare professionals and patients, the Medicines and Society Lab devoted the year 2020 to the issue of fake news on medicines and their health impact.

A decryption and proposals to fight against fake news in health

The Medicines and Society Lab is organizing its 1st conference by videoconference, on April 1 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., on the theme of the fight against fake news in health with the case of drugs. On this occasion, the Lab will make public a series of proposals.

Hosted by a journalist, this conference will offer three thematic platforms of 25 minutes:

• Patients and healthcare professionals facing fake news

• Authorities facing fake news

• Media and social networks in the face of fake news
