Spitting prohibited: universities ban wristwatches
Maybe I grew up in a golden age. In one where cell phones could already be silenced, fast typing using the T9 was just possible, but treacherous vibration alarms were the exception rather than the rule. In a nutshell: I can clearly remember having “exchanged knowledge” with classmates at school by short message.
That should not work so easily today. Teachers and school principals are sensitized, smartphones are ubiquitous – and are therefore often banned in classrooms. With the smartwatches, the next generation of inconspicuous picking aids is now coming. And this means that classic timepieces also have to disappear from the wrists of students.
At least London City University is now taking this drastic measure. Checking all timepieces for digital chances has obviously proven to be impractical. So wristwatches are now forbidden in the examination rooms – instead wall clocks are being hung up again. In addition, the professionals will distribute table clocks in the future.
What do you think? Is this a necessary measure or is it completely exaggerated? And have you ever "used" tech gadgets at school?
