Report: Microsoft's smartwatch is coming soon

As the news magazine Forbes reports, – alongside the Android Wear group and Apple with its watch – another "big player" will soon be launched on the wearable device market with Microsoft. According to the report, the gadget will appear in the next few weeks.

According to Forbes, the Microsoft Watch is a wearable that, among other things, measures the pulse and should be able to do without a socket for two days under normal use. In addition to Windows mobile phones and tablets, the Redmond smartwatch is also designed to work with Android and iOS devices. Even if this is not explicitly mentioned in the article, we can probably assume that the gadget on the wrist can at least read the notifications received on the smartphone – and possibly also answer them. Here, the voice assistant Cortana should play an important role, even if Google is currently clearly ahead in terms of voice controls.

An older report according to Tom's Hardware However, the focus of the smartwatch seems to be on fitness: a total of eleven sensors should be installed, but there are no more precise details so far. The corresponding article also mentions that the device is worn so that the display is on the inside of the wrist. This should make the use feel more "natural".

Forbes has no information on the name and price of the Microsoft Watch. According to the "people familiar with the matter", the wearable will still be available before Apple's watch. The device will be introduced in the next few weeks and will be launched shortly thereafter.
