The law relating to the organization and transformation of the health system of July 24, 2019 has the objective of making e-prescription “the only vector of prescription”. An ordinance published in November 2020 in the Official Journal provides for its entry into force “no later than December 31, 2024”, but exempts health establishments, it is recalled.

By February 2020, 87,000 e-prescriptions had been written.

Since July 2019, a total of 167 doctors have joined the experiment carried out in the departments of Maine-et-Loire, Saône-et-Loire and Val-de-Marne, according to the document.

The 105 participating pharmacies sent more than 28,000 e-prescriptions to health insurance, 14,000 more than a year ago.

The unions of health professionals and health insurance agreed on February 26 “for an extension of e-prescription to professionals equipped with the two operational software”, Crossway from Cegedim for doctors and LGPI from Pharmagest for pharmacists.

Experimentation is “technically” possible with 4 other software: AxiSanté 5 from CompuGroup and HelloDoc from Imagine Editions for doctors; Alliance + FES from SmartRX (Cegedim group) and WinPharma from Everys for pharmacists.

Regarding this software, it “continues”, it is indicated without further details.

In addition, a questionnaire was sent to publishers in December 2020 in order to find out their planning for the implementation of e-prescription. By the end of February, only 35 out of 86 had responded.

The first authorizations for other software vendors are expected in the second quarter of 2021.
