Unboxing
We let ourselves be seduced by simple but pleasant packaging. A beautiful red and white box in which we find the pen, the receiver, a docking station for the pen and the receiver which allows to recharge them, a manual and an additional mine for the pen. Very stylish, the box makes you want to open it all up and discover our new toy.
Design & Ergonomics
Very different from the specimens that we were able to Review at the writing, the Smartpen 2 by Equil has a unique design. Where pens are often circular, we end up with a triangular product and it’s not worse after all. Original, certainly, but frankly nice. The big point is that the docking station where you can store the pen and the receiver (and charge them) is functional and doesn't take up much space, a good point for transport.
Regarding the ergonomics of the pen, its triangular shape is a strength in that it fits the shape of the fingers (surprisingly) and the material does not slip. In addition, he writes well. As for the other specificities, it has a small diode which indicates when it is synchronized or in lack of battery. No, frankly, on this point, we are seduced.
Application
Equil does not offer one, but two applications associated with its pen, one focused on note taking and the other on creation. In both cases, the application works well and remains fairly easy except for one point, probably specific to Android. When you want to go back you have the reflex to press the "back" button on the phone. Except that on these apps, this button takes you out of the app. You actually have to press a button on the top left of the application. This is probably due to the fact that the application was designed for the iPhone. It's irritating for Android users, but not dramatic either. And let's talk about Android. For once, it’s compatible. Something that should be normal, but we come to be happy when it is the case after 3 tests where it was not possible.
But that's not all, Windows and Mac are also on the program. The applications have the same functions as the mobile applications and have no particular ergonomic problem. The only big black dot is thatyou have to go through your phone and iCloud Dropbox, or Evernote to be able to touch it.
So we can say that the application works well, but what about its functionality?
Use / Getting started
Well here too, it's not bad at all. The small negative point is the sometimes capricious Bluetooth connection, at least on the phone we used. Several untimely disconnections and not very easy to connect. Finally, in addition to these small inconveniences, whether it is the recognition of the writing, the modifications that we can make or the transcription in digital, it works well. So of course, the digital transformation is far from perfect, but remains in line with what the competition offers.
When it comes to using the pen itself, it's simple. Place the receiver on a sheet of A4 paper, write and your notes will end up on the mobile app. If your phone is not at hand, the receiver will still record, then you just have to connect it to recover everything. Equil announces that up to 1000 pages can be stored before the memory is full. An impressive figure that will especially interest those who draw a lot.
Big highlight is the ability to stream or join a note. Thus, 20 people can be on the same note at the same time while they are not together or not next to each other. A principle that opens up many possibilities, especially in professional terms.

iPhone 4 or later
All iPad
iPod touch 4th generation or later
Most Android devices.
Feature reminder
Transcription of all your notes on your phone

Possibility to stream a note
Conclusion
What we liked : The design of the product and its ergonomics, the very practical charging station, the possibility of streaming your notes, the large number of compatible terminals, notes transcribed faithfully.
What we didn't like : Obligation to go through the Cloud to retrieve content on computer, somewhat capricious Bluetooth connection, not very intuitive application on Android.
Equil strikes hard with its Smartpen 2. Not perfect, but still presents itself as one of the best smart health connected pens on the market. We pestera behind an Android adaptation that is not very intuitive and a Bluetooth that is sometimes a little capricious, remains that once in hand, difficult to let go of it for a classic pen. It still takes almost 200 euros to get it, a significant investment.
Use / Getting started
Overview
Design : The triangular shape may seem strange but it finally offers a good grip and a good visual.Application : A very high compatibility and rather intuitive, the main defect comes from this famous backward function badly done on Android.Use / Getting started :It is a success aside. It responds well and allows a good number of applications. Difficult to let go!Value for money : This is one of the major problems with smart health connected pens, they are expensive. 189 euros is a sum that not everyone will be ready to provide. Still, if we talk about the competition, the price / quality ratio is good.
