new version of the game "The Hero is you"

The Rennes association "Les P’tits Doudous" offers a new version of the fun application "Le Héros c’est toi" to accompany hospitalized children. Discovery.
Imagined by "Les P'tits Doudous", an association of nurses and anesthetists from the Rennes hospital, and designed by Niji, a consultancy, design and technology company at the service of digital transformation, "Le Héros, c'est toi ”is an interactive game that allows children who have to undergo surgery to reduce their fears and anxieties in a fun way.
The common will of Niji and the association “Les P'tits Doudous” to always innovate both in terms of uses and technologies, has just led to the development of a whole new version of the game, as close as possible to evolution of care paths in the hospital.
The application "The Hero is you" allows the child to understand each stage of his operative journey, from his room to the block. Becoming a player in a mini game (treasure hunt, angling, star hunter, kisses box …), the child is staged in the midst of elements of his medical environment that are health personnel (avatars), his room, the hospital corridors, the entrance to the operating room, the recovery room…
Thus, the child, like his parents, learns to live better at each stage of his journey, while the health staff can, through a selection of figurative tactile icons, measure his level of anxiety and reassure him through the Game.

An application which shows a double interest: to facilitate the work of the nursing staff by bringing well-being and serenity to children and their parents, but also to measure the impact of such a method on medical practices (reduction of premedication, management of alarm clock, etc.).
" With nearly 70 associations in France, the P’tits Doudous and all the wonderful work of the volunteers change the experience of hospitalized children a little more each day. The application "The Hero is you" has profoundly changed the care path at the hospital, it is a real success and we are really grateful to the Niji teams for their long-term support over all these years "Said Nolwenn Febvre, Nurse Anesthetist and President of the National Association" Les P’tits Doudous ".
After a first version of the application deployed in 2014 at the Rennes CHU, Niji had developed the game for the first time in March 2015 before it was implemented in other hospitals on French territory in early 2016. This new version is based on feedback from the different user populations (associations, nurses, doctors, patients, lecturers and students from the Faculty of Psychology in Rennes, etc.).
"Le Héros c’est toi" – now used by 69 local associations in France (in mainland France and in the overseas departments) – has already been used by more than 300,000 hospitalized children.
With the significant development of the ambulatory in hospitals, circuits are becoming faster and the rooms are getting closer to operating theaters. This new version thus offers the possibility of a shorter health course as well as a greatly simplified use for healthcare personnel, constrained by these new circuits to ever faster handling.
This new version also offers access to the games in a "unitary" way, without integration within a complete treatment path. A feature that allows both patients to replay with their favorite game, but also caregivers to quickly reassure the child with regard to various technical gestures (infusion set, blood pressure, anesthesia mask fitting , etc.), especially during emergency care.
