Neptune Duo: This smartwatch is a real smartphone

The Neptune company turns the usual concept of smartwatches upside down: instead of just being an extension of the mobile phone, the wearable is the important part of Neptune Duo. A fully functional smartphone is installed there, but it can also be operated via an external display .

Neptune calls the duo's smartwatch "Hub", while the actually lifeless display is simply called "Pocket Screen". The hub contains an unspecified quad-core processor, 64 GB of memory and a radio module with LTE support. In addition, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC are built into the smartwatch. Neptune Hub can also connect to the Internet via WLAN. The manufacturer makes no statements regarding the resolution of the touch-sensitive 2.4-inch display.

In addition to the usual sensors (compass, gyroscope and acceleration sensor), the smartwatch has a 1000 mAh battery and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. There is also a vibration motor, speakers and a microphone in the wearable housing.

The dumb phone part of the Neptune Duo consists of a housing with a HD-resolution 5-inch display. In addition to a 2800 mAh battery, there are also two cameras with resolutions of 8 and 2 megapixels. There is a gyroscope and an acceleration sensor. In order to be able to make calls with the pseudo cell phone, speakers and a microphone are also available in the housing. The manufacturer does not reveal exactly how the smartwatch connects to the pocket screen.
