MIDAD, the smart health connected mask that detects coronavirus automatically
Tech4Covid, a team of Moroccan researchers, has developed MIDAD, the first smart health connected mask with an automatic coronavirus detection system.
In the global fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, innovations keep coming and going, and they don't all come from the Silicone Valley. Thus, coming from Morocco, this invention is the fruit of collaboration between doctors and engineers of the country. In addition to alerting us when we approach a person infected with the disease, the device also filters air, like other masks.
A smart health connected mask and an application against coronavirus
In fact, MIDAD works in tandem with a mobile application called Trackorona; It is free to download and connects via Bluetooth. As the StopCovid of the government, it is a tracking application to find out if the user follows the instructions facing the Covid-19: confinement and social distancing.

Made by 3D printing, the mask itself has sensors to measure temperature, pressure and humidity. This data will then be used to calculate the user's cycle and respiratory pressure. An oximeter measures the level of oxygen in the blood.
