Microsoft Band: available in Europe from April

Microsoft's “tape” wearable device, which was previously only available in the USA, will come to Europe in mid-April. For the time being, however, it will only be available in Great Britain, where it will cost 170 British pounds. Microsoft then promises to launch its fitness tracker bit by bit in other countries as well. So far, there is no specific date for a sales start in Germany. The German press office was also unable to tell us anything about this upon request.

Interested parties can strike as soon as the Microsoft Band is available in the UK. For example, an order via Amazon UK to Germany with the existing customer data of the German online shop is easily possible.

Microsoft's fitness tracker with smartwatch features has a 320 × 106 pixel touch-sensitive 1.4-inch display. A total of ten sensors were installed to analyze the pulse or body temperature, among other things. The gadget can also measure UV radiation and record movement activities thanks to the integrated GPS module.

The Microsoft Band connects to Windows, Android and iOS smartphones via Bluetooth 4.0. On the wearable, notifications from the cell phone are displayed – for example, about incoming e-mails, SMS, calls as well as Facebook and Twitter messages. Thanks to an integrated microphone, a timer and stopwatch can be set by voice input, and Microsoft's Personal Assistant Cortana is also available.
