Limited availability of Apple Watch at launch?

As the tech blog 9to5Mac claims to have found out, potential Apple Watch buyers in the USA could go away empty-handed on the day of the sale if they had not reserved the gadget in advance. Due to the large variety of models, the Smartwatch from Cupertino should initially only be available in very limited quantities – and pre-orders have priority. If this turns out to be true, it should also look similar at the launch in Germany.

Although 9to5Mac thinks that there may also be a certain number of over-the-counter smartwatches, at the same time the blog predicts that it will be difficult to get the desired model. There are a total of 35 Apple Watch models. On the other hand, if you pre-order the iOS smartwatch (possible from April 10), you can probably pick up your desired version on April 24 in the Apple Store.

MacRumors has, according to its own information, leaked internal documents, according to which Apple will initially not sell the smartwatch at all freely in the store – but only after pre-order. If you don't want to blindly pre-order online, you can make an appointment in the Apple Store you trust and then try the smartwatch there. However, you shouldn't be able to take the model of your choice with you, but then be able to pre-order it online with the help of the employees there.

9to5Mac also reports that potential buyers can try the Apple Watch in the Apple Shops for up to 15 minutes from April 10. For those interested in the luxury version, it should also give an exclusive service. Specially trained personnel therefore offer the devices with prices starting at 11,000 euros in separate areas. Well-heeled customers are said to be able to play with the precious gadget for up to half an hour.
