To break the taboos around IBD (chronic inflammatory bowel disease), MedShake Studio, with the support of afa Crohn RCH France, is launching a new podcast: MICI & cie. Discovery.

MedShake Studio, a podcast studio specializing in health, launched its new podcast MICI & compagnie on the occasion of the world day dedicated to raising awareness of these chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, on Wednesday, May 19.

IBD mainly brings together two pathologies: Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. In France, 250,000 patients are affected, and yet these diseases are taboo. The podcast gives a voice to patients suffering from IBD, and is produced with the support of afa Crohn RCH France, the national association for patients to overcome Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Behind the microphone is Amélie Baraud, a student with ulcerative colitis, who deciphers many topics around the disease and gives her advice for patients and caregivers. In each episode of MICI & cie, she tackles different subjects around IBD, such as diagnosis, daily life with the disease or treatments.

In the first episode entitled “IBD & schooling”, Amélie evokes a subject that affects many patients with inflammatory bowel diseases: schooling. The podcast host tells about her school career, shares the testimonials of patients received on social networks and gives her advice and tips to make the most of your schooling with the disease.

MedShake Studio is the first French studio solely dedicated to the production of podcasts for the health sector. Resulting from the meeting between Marguerite de Rodellec, 10 years of experience in audio, and Anca Petre, pharmacist, MedShake Studio aims to give a voice to all health players via an innovative medium: the podcast.
