Hands-on: Sony SmartWatch 3 Stainless Steel

While the CES 2015 has been somewhat crippling so far and there are no big highlights, there are encouraging little details and product reports. We had a look at one of them at Sony: The Smartwatch 3 now comes in an additional version with a stainless steel housing. This makes the Android Wear watch one of the most attractive and high-quality smartwatches that the market currently has to offer.

Technically, on the other hand, there is nothing new to report: the hardware is completely identical to the well-known Sony Smartwatch 3. There is a 1.6-inch LCD with 320 × 320 pixels, which compensates for the technical disadvantage compared to smartwatches with AMOLED due to the trans-flexibility: Without backlighting, incident light is reflected so that the watch remains legible. In addition, the Smartwatch 3 is the only Android Wear watch with integrated GPS, but there is no heart rate monitoring.

It is expected to be launched in Germany at the end of February for 279 euros. Not exactly cheap, but high quality. You can see our first impression in the following video.
