Gear S2 in hands-on ehealth: round smartwatch from Samsung

Samsung presented its first round smartwatch at the IFA. We already have a first hands-on ehealth of the Gear S2 for you.
The smartwatches are ripening: If the computer watches looked like a wet dream of a Casio manager in the 90s a year to three years ago, the current models are really chic. The cases have slimmed down considerably, and metal and leather are increasingly being used instead of black plastic.
This is particularly true of the Samsung Gear S2 Classic, which at first glance really looks like a classic wristwatch. Their sister Gear S2, on the other hand, looks much geekier, but is also really chic. By the way, Tizen runs on both devices.
And both devices rely on a similar operating concept: in addition to the touchscreen, the watch also has a digital bezel. With this rotating ring that surrounds the display, the user scrolls through app lists, calendar entries, missed calls and so on. There are also two mechanical buttons for on the right side of the watch Back and health home.
In terms of features, the Gear S2 (Classic) offers the usual smartwatch fare: there are notifications of missed calls and incoming mails, a few fitness tracking functions, a calendar and so on. On request, the two watches are also available with an integrated UMTS module – thanks to the integrated microphone, you can also use them to make calls.
In the following photo gallery you will find a few more impressions of the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic.
