Dried cranberries groats
An easy healthy recipe for kids – pear and dried cranberries groats
INGREDIENTS
250 ml (1 cup) milk
50 g (1/2 cup) quick cooking rolled oats
30 ml (2 tbsp) dried cranberries
15 mL (1 tbsp) maple syrup
1/2 pear, seeded and diced
PREPARATION of pear and dried cranberries groats
In a small saucepan off the heat, combine all the ingredients except the pears. On medium high heat, bring to a boil, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. Simmer by scraping the bottom and sides of the pan about 3 minutes or until the oatmeal has thickened while still being creamy.Pour into bowl. Garnish with pears and a drizzle of maple syrup.
NOTEQuick-cooking oats are also called “quick cooking GROATS” because they cook in no time. In this recipe, they can be replaced with the same amount of large oatmeal by providing a little more liquid, 310 ml (1 1/4 cup) of milk and 10 minutes of cooking.
