Xiaomi has long been a company engaged in the development of consumer networking equipment such as modems and routers. Design Xiaomi Router AX1800

The new WiFi 6 router of the Middle Kingdom has a very modern design and which contracts with the traditional WIfi routers with visible antennas. Here a black tower, 5th element style. The shell is metal on all four sides, while metal ‘X’ shaped flaps on the top edge give a slightly more aggressive look. Finally, at the bottom there are openings for internal heat dissipation.

As for the functions related to Wifi, the Xiaomi Mi Router AX1800 is equipped with 2 × 2 dual-band MU-MIMO antennas (multi-user, multiple inputs, multiple outputs) with dedicated signal amplifiers. This router can offer simultaneous wireless speeds of up to 1775 Mbps in the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, as well as connection of up to 128 IOT devices through a dedicated chip and antenna.

For wired connections, the device has 3 Gigabit LAN Ethernet ports and a Gigabit WAN.

A mesh router is good, but what is it?

Another great strength of the device is its mode of operation, it uses a mesh connection, which allows smarter connectivity between multiple access points distributed throughout the environment. In addition, this model supports speeds up to 1775 Mb / s, which promises to guarantee an HD movie download in 8 seconds.

The Xiaomi Mi AX1800 router is the second Wifi 6 compatible router that the company launched in the market (the first is the model AX3600).

The device has a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm enterprise-class quad-core processor, of 128MB internal memory and 256MB RAM.

In addition, the router has a dedicated NPU, 1 Gigabit WAN port (ideal for 1 Gb / s FTTH connections), and 3 x 3 Gigabit LAN ports.

With 256 GB of RAM and an intelligent connectivity system, the AX1800 psupports up to 128 devices at the same time via Wifi.

Another promise concerns the transmission of data for jthem online. Xiaomi added a system called Tencent Online Game Accelerator, which promises to optimize network performance for PCs, video games and other smart health connected laptops.

Note : the Xiaomi Mi AX1800 router does not have a modem component. This means that to work it must be smart health connected to your internet box.
