Asus ZenWatch 2: available from 149 euros in October

Asus launches the second generation of its ZenWatch at fairly humane prices: the smallest version of the gadget only costs 149 euros.
The ZenWatch 2 presented at Computex in the middle of the year will be available in Germany from October. In terms of price, the fun starts at € 149, as Asus just announced at its press conference at IFA. Whether this price refers to the smaller version of the smartwatch (with a 1.45-inch OLED with a resolution of 280 × 280 pixels) or the version with a 1.63-inch OLED (with a resolution of 320 × 320 pixels) cannot be found in the official notification.
With metal casings of the ZenWatch 2, the buyer has the choice between the colors silver, "Gunmetal" and "Rose Gold" – wristbands made of plastic, metal or leather will also be available in various colors. The hardware inside has not changed much compared to the first ZenWatch: Asus uses a Snapdragon 400 chip as a processor, the RAM is 512 MB and 4 GB of internal memory. However, the ZenWatch 2 now offers WiFi support.
In the smaller ZenWatch 2, the integrated battery has a capacity of 300 mAh, the larger version has a 400 mAh battery. According to Asus, both watches last up to two days and can be charged up to 50 percent within 36 minutes thanks to the quick charge function. Android Wear runs on the ZenWatch 2 as an operating system, and recently the Google Smartwatch OS also supported iPhones.
