Apple Watch 2: launch this year?

Before the Apple Watch is even commercially available, the first rumors about its alleged successor are circulating. According to analysts, Apple should already present a successor this year, which clears up many criticisms of the first model.

So it should Apple Watch 2 no longer have to rely on a permanent connection to the iPhone, but, like the Gear S from Samsung, have their own SIM card slot and a connection to the cell phone network.

Whether the changes to the Apple Watch are actually so serious is currently pure speculation. The current rumors go back to an article by Cowen & Co. analyst Timothy Arcuri published by the US newspaper Barron's has grasped. Arcuri relies on discussions with suppliers.

However, there are other rumors about Apple Watch: According to the Apple, there could be a kind of facelift towards the end of the year new housing materials introduces. Platinum, titanium and ceramics are specifically mentioned.
