Apple brings watchOS 2 for the watch and new models

Today Apple introduced the second version of its smartwatch operating system: watchOS 2. It brings many innovations that should significantly increase the value of the watch. Of course there are visual revisions and new watch faces – which can now also display information from third-party apps.

However, the fact that applications are finally running natively on the watch is much more exciting. So far, the applications ran on the smartphone, only the content was transferred to the watch. With new apps, for example, access to the hardware of the watch is possible – for example to the microphone or the sensors, but playing videos will also no longer be a problem in the future.

Apple has given some examples of apps that will be available with the new version of watchOS – including Facebook Messenger, the live translation app iTranslate or a GoPro app that brings the live image of the action cam straight to the watch. It becomes a wireless viewfinder.

There is hardly any news on the hardware side. The Apple Watch will be available in other colors in the future, there should be more bracelets and fine leather straps from Hermes, but the technology inside remains unchanged for the time being.

The new models and bracelets should still be available today, watchOS 2 is coming next week: from September 16.
